Sit Down | July 2021
During the summer of 2021 Simone Begani shows a series of objects designed by Gaetano Pesce (1939) starting from the end of the seventies. In particular, the gallery exhibits the Sit Down armchairs in a variety of colors and shapes and some limited edition rubber bowls produced by Fish Design in the early 2000s. The armchairs, produced by Cassina in 1980 in small numbers, are one of the first experiments conceived by Pesce as unique pieces in series. Something similar happened in the resin-drowned tables that Marzio Cecchi (1940-1990) made in the same years for the Studio Most in Florence where each piece was different from the other. The two designers have absolutely nothing in common, yet something unites them in the search for materials and in the creative process. On the walls, experiments on shapes and colors in the paintings of Cesare Leonardi (1935-2001).
